Meet the Horses

Oak Hill Stables is not a large boarding and training facility. With that said, for our small number of boarding, lesson and training clients we offer riding and boarding facilities of exceptional quality. Pictured at right is our 36'x80' stable barn, our 36'x80' storage barn, and our 66'x136' indoor riding arena.
We're a growing farm and Sean is making continual improvements to fencing, barns, areans, trails and landscape. Each season brings new
improvements and Sean relies heavily on input from boarders to guide projects.
Stables
Our stable offers ten stalls each with full stall mats, a dedicated light, an electrical outlet and a window for ventilation. A heated and lit wash stall is centrally located in the stable, and provides separate cold and hot water hoses. Our tack room and our grain room are also centrally located. Overhead lighting in and around the stable is substantial. For everyone's convenience, our security and motion detection systems activate parking area lights when an approaching vehicle is detected. Now in progress: We've begun excavation and grading work within our stable aisle in preparation for durable and attractive concrete paver flooring.
Indoor Arena
Directly adjoining our stable is our 20x40 meter indoor riding arena with eighteen metal halide lights mounted on the arena's sixteen foot ceiling. The ceiling is insulated and the arena is partially shaded by surrounding trees and nearby barns. In addition there are thirteen sliding wall panels that may be opened to bring in the relaxing views and a pleasant breeze, as pictured at right. The result is a very pleasant arena with a constant soft breeze and an abundance of natural light during the day, and plenty of artifical light in the evening. The arena is quite cool even during ninety degree days owing to good ventilation and a "cold sink" from the gnoll behind the arena.
Outdoor Arena
A short walk or ride from the stable is our full regulation size Dressage 20x60 meter outdoor riding arena. Because exposure is minimized by it's strategic location, the outdoor arena is cool during the summer months and buffered from wind during the winter months. The footing is worked regularly, well drained and suitable for casual riding or Dressage training. Riders enjoy a peaceful and natural setting with very few distractions.
Riding Lanes and Trails
Our farm presently consists of 128 acres. We have many acres of groomed fields for outdoor riding, along with several wooded trails that climb three scenic ridgelines. There are wooded and open trail routes on hundreds of acres of adjoining parcels that are also available to horse and rider.
Child Friendly!
Nancy and Sean have two young girls, ages four and seven. Children are always welcome on the farm! Our playhouse w/ slide, swings, monkey bars and a covered sandbox is directly near the stables.
